Webinar Description:
PowerCentsDC Pilot: A Model for Stakeholder Collaboration
This pilot program designed and governed by a diverse group of stakeholders, tested the response of residential consumers to three different pricing structures and multiple energy information feedback channels. The final report was recently released and covers the design, operation, and analysis of the summers of 2008 and 2009, and the winter of 2008-9. This webinar will present perspectives from consumer advocates, the utility, and regulators about:

  • The response of customers to recruitment and participation in the program
  • The extent to which each dynamic pricing plan induced a reduction in peak demand; and
  • Consumer attitudes towards dynamic pricing and receiving detailed energy information.
  • What are the implications for DR service providers in their relationship with utilities?
  • How the collaborative process was different from "business as usual" and what are the implications for future stakeholder interaction both informal and formal?
