National Town Meeting on Demand Response to Include Microgrid Workshop May 19

Registration is open for the 2014 National Town Meeting on Demand Response and Smart Grid, which this year will include a special microgrid workshop.

Attendees will come together May 19-21 at the Ronald Reagan Building in Washington, D.C to hear from experts, learn about cutting edge topics, and discuss what is needed to move demand response and smart grid forward.

As its name implies, the town meeting is known for its give and take among business leaders and policymakers. The event includes an entire day of round table discussions with experts in demand response and smart grid that focuses on trends, issues and business developments. The National Town Meeting also will feature panel discussions, case studies and best practice presentations, Q&A sessions, electronic voting, receptions and networking.

This year the event will include a pre-town meeting workshop on May 19 that will explore microgrids. The workshop will help attendees understand what microgrids are and why so many people are talking about them now. It will focus on both the technical and business side of microgrids and look at policies that can delay or accelerate microgrid adoption. Elisa Wood, editor of EnergyEfficiencyMarkets.com, will be among the presenters at the workshop.

The town meeting event is sponsored by the Association for Demand Response & Smart Grid (ADS) a non-profit organization of professionals and organizations involved in demand response and smart grid.
